Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating a Rentit account or using the Rentit platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users — renters, suppliers, and visitors.

2. The Rentit platform

Rentit is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects asset owners (“Suppliers”) with people who want to rent those assets (“Renters”). Rentit is not a party to the rental transaction itself — we provide the platform, payment infrastructure, and identity verification layer.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Suppliers must complete NIN verification before listings go live.
  • You must provide accurate information during registration.
  • Accounts are personal and non-transferable.

4. Listings and bookings

  • Suppliers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including condition, availability, and pricing.
  • All listings are reviewed by Rentit before going live.
  • Renters agree to use rented assets only for the stated purpose and return them in the same condition.
  • Payments are processed by Paystack and held securely until the rental is completed.

5. Prohibited conduct

  • Sharing contact details or attempting to transact outside the Rentit platform.
  • Listing stolen, counterfeit, or prohibited assets.
  • Providing false identity information.
  • Using the platform for any illegal purpose.
  • Manipulating reviews or the rating system.

Violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban.

6. Payments and fees

Rentit charges a platform fee on completed transactions. The current fee structure is displayed at checkout. Rentit reserves the right to adjust fees with 30 days' notice. Payments are processed by Paystack subject to their terms.

7. Disputes

If a dispute arises between a Renter and Supplier, both parties should first attempt to resolve it directly. If unresolved, either party may escalate to Rentit's dispute team within the dispute window (48 hours after rental completion). Rentit's decision on payment release is final.

8. Limitation of liability

Rentit is a marketplace platform and is not liable for the condition, quality, or legality of listed assets; losses arising from a transaction between a Renter and Supplier; or interruptions to the platform beyond our reasonable control.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State.
