1. Who we are
Rentit Technologies Ltd (“Rentit”, “we”, “us”) operates the Rentit platform at rentit.ng. We are registered in Nigeria. For privacy enquiries, contact us at privacy@rentit.ng.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, phone number.
- Identity verification: your National Identification Number (NIN) is transmitted directly to our identity verification partner and stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash — the raw NIN is never retained by Rentit.
- Listing data: photos, descriptions, pricing, and location information you provide when listing assets.
- Transaction data: booking records, payment references (no raw card data — payments are handled entirely by Paystack).
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, device type, IP address.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Rentit platform.
- To verify your identity and prevent fraud.
- To process bookings and payments.
- To send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, OTP codes, payment receipts) via SMS and email.
- To improve our services through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
4. Who we share data with
- Paystack: payment processing. Subject to Paystack's Privacy Policy.
- NIMC / Identity verification partner: NIN verification only. The raw NIN is not retained after verification.
- Supabase: database and file storage infrastructure.
- Vercel: hosting infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are kept for 7 years for tax and audit purposes. You may request deletion of your account data (excluding records required for legal compliance) by emailing privacy@rentit.ng.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email privacy@rentit.ng. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Rentit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
